Deadliest Catch star Sig Hansen to be inducted into Scandinavian-American Hall of Fame
Sig Hansen, star of Discovery's Deadliest Catch, will be inducted into the Scandinavian-American Hall of Fame as a 2014 inductee alongside Doc Severinsen and Bobby Vee. The ceremony will take place on October 1st in Minot, North Dakota. He will be presented for induction by Doug Dixon, general manager of Ballard's Pacific Fishermen Shipyard.
"Sig Hansen has made a splash on the entertainment world through his exploits on board the fishing vessel Northwestern. Hansen is a star and technical advisor on the television series Deadliest Catch. He caught the fishing bug at age 14 and began working on the family’s fishing boat. After high school, he began year-round fishing and, at age 22, became a relief skipper, filling in on the Northwestern. Two years later, he was in charge of the boat and winning a following on the hit TV show.
